Can a kitchen counter outlet that's dedicated with a 12/2 be protected with a 20 amp breaker but still have a 15 amp duplex receptical.
    Thanks

14-600 prohibits what you described, but says,"except as permitted by other sections of this code."

I think if there were any exceptions, they would be found in Rules 26-700 to 26-726, but I don't see any.

26-726 specifically states that the 5-20RA (20 amp) receptacle be installed when 20 amp circuits are used for kitchen counter work surfaces.

Thanks once again for you informative input.

I was unsure as I have a ref. to the NEC code that states:

NEC 210.21(B)(3) permits either 15- or 20- ampere receptacles on a
20-ampere rated circuit supplying two or more receptacles. However, a
single receptacle on an individual branch circuit must have an ampere
rating not less than that of the branch circuit. NOTE: this must be a
single receptacle and not a duplex or greater.

I know the CEC is not the same as NEC but just curious as to the different rules.
    Thanks again.
